Ted Lyddon Hatten imagePLEASE NOTE WE HAVE HAD TO POSTPONE THIS WEBINAR UNTIL THE NEW DATE OF JULY 11TH, 2017.

Ched will talk with artist and theologian Lyddon-Hatten (right).  Ted is a Methodist pastor in Des Moines, where he is also Director of the Wesley Foundation and adjunct professor at Drake University.  His work is multidisciplinary and often ephemeral.

Ted says:  “As a visual artist, I work with a variety of media, favoring those that are gratifying to work with and bring additional layers of meaning.  The materials I use include myrrh, liquefaction, coffee grounds, beeswax (encaustic), dry pigment, egg tempera, grain, gunpowder, glass, sand, and salt.  The themes that recur for me include beauty, brokenness, compassion, justice, and belonging. Fields of inquiry for me are ornithology, neuroscience, visual perception, theology, natural science, and color theory.”

Venues where Ted’s work has been featured include: Festival One (New Zealand); Wild Goose Festival, NC; Yale Divinity School; Loyola University Chicago; United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities; Purdue University; Eastern Mennonite University; the Carnival de Resistance; the Kinsler Institute; and the United Methodist Church General Conference.  See samples of his amazing work at www.tedlyddonhatten.com.
